The East New York Oral History Project was designed to capture the personal experiences of people who lived in East New York from 1960 - 1970, during the time in which East New York rapidly changed from a primarily White to primarily Black and Latino community.

Functionality:

Data driven web-site integrating data, maps and audio. The site is maintained via a Google Sheet which publishes a shapefile used by the website.

Racial change maps were prepared from the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey Data and georeferenced redline maps from Mapping Inequality.

The site also allows individual audio clips to be addressable by QR Code, supporting physical installations of the project.
